The origins

Tenuta della Fonda, one of the realities that best represents the
exceptional qualitative evolution that has characterized
viticulture in the Oltrepò Pavese in recent years.

The company’s story began in the 1990s in the municipality of Mornico Losana, starting from a small plot adjacent to the Lazzari family’s home.

Over the years, the property gradually expanded to reach today’s 12 hectares, about 9 of which are planted with the area’s characteristic grape varieties.

The birth of a passion...

In the 90s, our estate originated from a small vineyard next to the local road “Fonda.”

Over the years, the property gradually expanded.
Then in 2010, a true revolution took place, expanding and modernizing vineyards and facilities, which allowed us to achieve great satisfaction from a land always dedicated to viticulture.

Our land and our vineyards

Oltrepò Pavese has ancient origins.
Testimonies of a lost world emerge along the cheerful and gentle hills…
Marine-origin sedimentary rocks, such as marls, clays, and calcareous marls, characterize the ideal terroir for vine cultivation.
Our vineyards find unique and favorable soil and climate conditions.
We currently cultivate: “Pinot Nero, Croatina, Barbera, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Uva Rara, Riesling Renano, and Moscato Bianco.”

Only grapes from our own vineyards...

Aware of inheriting an extraordinary territorial heritage, our commitment has always been to achieve a perfect balance between the vine and its land.

The quality of the wine, which is primarily determined by the vineyard of origin, has always guided us towards vinifying grapes exclusively from our vineyards.

Increasing the number of vines per hectare, ground cover, targeted pruning, cluster selection, and low-impact agronomic techniques reduce yields, favoring optimal ripening indices.

Vinification, aging, bottling. All stages are followed with extreme care.

Thus, the “fruit of the vine,” mastered by the farmer’s hand, reaches us to share the pleasure of a toast…

Where the fruit takes shape...

the cellar: a special place where tradition and innovation coexist, where the wine’s journey has never changed.
After destemming and pressing with a pneumatic press, the vinification process begins using advanced and sustainable techniques to preserve the authenticity of the grapes.
But it is with aging that organoleptic components, such as tannins and aromas, are elevated to a more complex and elegant level.
From the stainless steel tank to the French oak barrique and tonneaux, to the bottle.
The evolutionary state is completed with this final step, enriching the wine with olfactory and gustatory finesse.
Time… a fundamental element to give identity to the wines of Tenuta della Fonda…

The people

And yet I believe that much happiness belongs to those who are born where good wines are found…

The protagonists who together tell a story of passion and commitment towards the future…
